The emergence of China as an economic superpower

It has come to my attention that the search and sheer interest in Chinese stocks surged in October after China Digital TV (NYSE:STV) became listed in New York. Research and popularity in Chinese ADRs has increased by four-folds from August to October, compared to less than a 30% increase in other NYSE listed stocks. 38 out of the 500 most searched for stocks on CNN Money and Yahoo! Finance were of Chinese origin.

The New Chinese Tech Bubble

About 50% of all searched for and demanded Chinese stocks were tech stocks such as Baidu (NYSE:BIDU), the most searched for stock on average per month, with 96,000 enquiries. LDK Solar (NYSE:LDK), which had rebounded after its successful recount of inventory and joint ventures, took most of the interest before China Digital TV was listed on the board.
