Here are some interesting links/articles for you this morning:
"Mobile phone users top 515 mln by August"
- Previously I'd given out the figures for Hong Kong mobile phone users, so I thought I'd follow up with figures for China. Population of China: 1,322,000,000 (as of July 2007). Number of mobile phone users: 515,000,000. Number of mobile phones per person: 0.390. Note that the growth of mobile phone users in China is 1.32% per month. Hint hint: China Mobile.
"Baidu's $400 Target Reminiscent of Dot.com Valuation"
- This article really made me laugh. The conclusion is: "If Baidu.com is $400, Google (GOOG) should be $800. (yes even with its slower growth and inability to win the hearts and minds of 1.3 Billion Chinese)." It's true (that Chinese stocks have P/E ratios off the charts) and it's not true (that it doesn't matter what the price of Google is - Chinese stocks have a mind of its own) at the same time.
"Ferrari's flyer is China bound"
- New car models in China! If you ever wondered how the Chinese economy is doing, then just take a look at all the luxury goods for sale. Ferrari is a prime example. Sales are up 33% from last year. Is the Chinese economy headed for massive inflation?
