The Chinese version of the seventh and final installment of Harry Potter will go on sale in China on October 28th after 3 months of translation, says publisher People's Literature Publishing House. The first batch will have 1 million copies, the most amongst the series. 7,000 copies have been preordered to date, and that number is expected to exceed 10,000 right before the release.
Chinese Amazon.com affiliate Joyo has teamed up with the publishing house to offer:
1. 10 yuan discount coupons for each pre-order and purchase. The discount coupons are eligible for purchases over 50 yuan.
2. sets of the whole Harry Potter saga (worth 20,000 yuan) to the central library of the Chinese city with the highest sales rate by November 29th.
Do you think that this a good way to do business in China?
