
In the fourth quarter every year, retailers across the world (including U.S. and Europe) start to load Chinese-made electronics, toys, Christmas trees, and crackers ahead of Christmas. This year is no exception. According to the China’s Customs Bureau, China's trade surplus surged from September's $15.3 billion to a record $23.8 Billion in October. People said this was so called the “Christmas Surplus”.
European Union Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson visited China this week. He accused the Chinese government for keeping the yuan undervalued, ignoring copyrights, and protecting local businesses.
U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez will fly to Beijing on November 12th.
It’s all about trade surplus.
