Wal-Mart’s new wage policy stipulates that employees who earn more than the maximum amount for their jobs won't see a salary increase unless they change positions. The company said that fewer than 3% of Wal-Mart's hourly employees had hit the maximum salary. Obviously, these people are unhappy with this policy change. Some say the wage capes should apply to those at the top of the company.
Independent filmmaker Ron Galloway, who made a movie, "Why Wal-Mart Works: And Why That Makes Some People Crazy," openly criticized Wal-Mart’s wage cape policy. He said, "I understand Wal-Mart has to find a way to grow earnings and increase shareholder value, but I don't believe they should do it on the backs of their long-term employees."
Mr. Ron Galloway thinks that the wage capes should not be applied to the long-term employees, but should it apply to short-term employees or part-time employees?
