
If the details of the nuclear test on Monday were confirmed, North Korea would be the ninth country known to have nuclear weapons, along with the United States, Russia, Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan, and Israel.
Michael Breen, author of a 2004 book, “Kim Jong-Il: North Korea’s Dear Leader,” said: “Mr. Kim decided many years ago that he needs a nuclear weapon in order to survive.”
Sure, Mr. Kim needs a nuclear weapon for survival, but it is not just for survival. Michael Breen may need to do more research on this subject.
According to the United Nation, there are many countries that are capable of developing their own nuclear program from the next 10 to 20 years. The long lists include Brazil, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others.
The world nuclear club may need more seats for the new members.
