Mr. Qiu Xiaohua, the head of China’s National Statistics Bureau, was dismissed from his current post and was put under house arrest by investigators last week. Qiu was charged for being involved in the Shanghai's pension fund corruption case that has already led to the dismissal of Shanghai’s top leader, Chen Liangyu.
Qiu Xiaohua had devoted his whole career to the China’s National Statistics Bureau. As a statistician and a well-known forefront reformer, he had been highly credited for making China's statistics more accurate and trustworthy in recent years. Nevertheless, he is out at the moment.
