Know More: U.S.-China Trade 2.0, U.S.-China Trade

To respond to the U.S. trade representative Susan Schwab’s call for asking China to be more vocal than India and Brazil, on Monday the China Commerce Minister, Bo Xilai, expressed his concerns over the stalled WTO talks, urging the developed nations to make concessions in terms of cutting farm tariffs and subsidies.

“At present, we need the developed countries to take the lead in making substantial concessions in order to create conditions for the quick resumption of the WTO negotiations.” said Minister Bo in a meeting with visiting director general of the WTO, Pascal Lamy.

Minister Bo also stressed that the WTO talks should not only seek progress on market access issues, but also fully realize the development goals of all parties concerned.

Susan Schwab may need to find out: what is the matter with Minister Bo?
