The rising income gap between the rich and the poor has been a hot topic to many people in China. The survey by China Youth showed that 98% of the Chinese felt that the income gap nowadays was larger than that of ten years ago, and 84% of Chinese thought that the existing income inequality was unacceptable.
The Chinese government seems to have a clear mindset about this issue, and has promised its people that help was on the way. According to the officials:
• The government will increase the income of the low-income class, increase the proportion of the middle-class, and readjust the income of the rich people.
• The government will allocate more funds for retirement pensions and grant more subsidies to low-income families and retired people, including veterans.
• The government will cut down the income gap between urbanities and villagers among people living in different areas, and among workers in different industries.
I hope I can see the beef on the table soon.

Chinese government SHOULD do something about their income inequality because Chinese culture emphasizes equality. Too much inequality will unstabilize the society.
I heard that Islam culture also emphasizes more on equality, less on materialism. But I am not sure.
