India IT industry is out front. However, www.infosys.com chief mentor, N.R. Naryana Murthy says that China can expect to pull even with India within the next five years.
Infosys receives 1.4 million job applications every year! And they are giving all their engineers a raise of 12.5 % to about $5,750/year.
But, Murthy says, "The Chinese are much more determined than we are." Translated - the Indians are getting lazy and the Chinese are doing the 'Avis' thing...trying harder.
India cannot educate the number of workers it needs fast enough to keep up with global economic expansion. And China is happy to step in and fill the gaps.
Apple Computer and the UK utility company Powergen have announced the closure of their Indian support activities.
Will other large companies follow suit? Will other companies HAVE To follow suit?
What do you think?

Your observation is on par with what we're noticing on firsthand experience as well. China's economy as a whole is exploding at a welcoming rate whereas India seems to be on a downward path. They're taking on too many projects, increasing their rates but do not offer a parallel performance or work ethics that warrant such demand. Not a good trend since big companies are having more choices in Phillippines & VN for outsourcing needs. Thanks for the visits and I find your sidebar links very helpful.
