The Chinese are used to cut throat pricing. And when the local store won't meet the customer's price, well the customer will keep haggling till they get the price they want, or leave.
Wal-Mart's 'everyday low prices' theme hasn't struck a chord in China the way it does elsewhere.
But, Wal-Mart has a more serious problem. It has not been able to replicate its super-efficient logistic system. Reason being - it doesn't have the volume of sales...yet. The key word being yet.
Wal-Mart's strategy appears to be to open up enough stores so that it can then leverage its mass scale to squeeze out lower prices and drive efficiencies in purchasing, inventory management and distribution.

Well they did in the US so i am pretty sure that they can do it in China. Every person is looking for a cheaper price on anything and everything and Walmart is the answer i guess.
