
Four groups in America were polled about their impressions of China -
1. General Public
2. Opinion Leaders
3. Congressional Staff
4. Business Leaders
One question they were asked was
Do you believe that the arrival of Chinese immigrants is a positive development, a serious threat or neither for the US?
More than half of Opinion Leaders (53%) and Business leaders (51%) are happy to welcome Chinese immigrants to the US.
The General Public (29%) and Congressional Staff (26%) were not as welcoming. These two groups basically see immigration by the Chinese as neitehr here nor there.
General public (49%) and
Congressional Staff (57%) said it really didn't matter to them if the Chinese immigrated here or not.
