Four groups in America were polled about their impressions of China -
1. General Public
2. Opinion Leaders
3. Congressional Staff
4. Business Leaders
One question they were asked is
How do you view China's Emergence as a Global Economic Power?
One fourth of the General Public (25%) and the Opinion leaders (24%) see China's emergence as China becoming an ally in economic growth. One in ten of the Congressional Leaders (10%) and Business leaders (12%) agree with this assessment.
China's emergence as a global economic power is overwhelmingly perceived as a threat (potential/serious) by the four groups. Well, then ... get back to work!
Congressional leaders (34/54%) = 88% overall
Business leaders (49/31%) = 80% overall
Opinion leaders (38/30%) = 68% overall
and
General Public (36/24%) = 60% overall.
A whole lot of people are worried about China's emergence as an economic power.
Well, then America...I'll say it again...get back to work!
What do you think?
