Pretty soon China will have a record for the number of records it has set - in the economy.
In June, the trade surplus hit $14.5 billion. This is the highest trade surplus recorded by any country ever. And don't forget...Christmas is coming.
China did its part on increasing imports - up 19%, but exports outpaced imports and grew 23%.
Well, to be sure, Americans, instead of hunkering down and working harder to make things of better quality, more efficiently and thus more cheaply will start crying (key word is cry) "Do something!"
Raise the exchange rate!
Protectionism!
Dumping!
And, they will hold up picket signs (made in Chinese) that say "Buy more US made products."
The secret is no secret. America needs to get back to work. America needs to make something that the rest of the world needs and that the rest of the world cannot make better, quicker or more cheaply than the US can.
