
Last year the number of millionaires in the world grew by more than 500,000. I wasn't one of them. But, I think my neighbors were in the group.
Presently there are about 8.7 millionaires in the world and many of them live right down the street from me.
The results of a financial service research revealed that strong market performance as well as overall global economic growth deserved the credit. Uh...yeah. I am not very smart, but even I could have guessed that.
China has about 300,000 millionaires and Russia has about 80,000.
What is interesting, or not, depending on your perspective is that there are more millionaires in the Bay Area of California (111,600) than there are in ALL of Russia. New York, Los Angeles and Chicago have a higher percentage of millionaires than the Bay Area.
These four cities have more millionaires than ALL Of China and Russia put together.
Nearly 5% of the people in my neighborhood are millionaires. Holy smokes! And to think, I am blogging for a living...that must be why.
The total worth (not including housing) of the 8.7 millionaires in the world is $33.3 trillion! Am I the only one feeling left behind?
When Google went public there were instant multi-millionaires made - worth the value of a medium sized corporation - $30-60 million.
And to think that all I have are my baseball cards.
