Four groups in America were polled about their impressions of China -
1. General Public
2. Opinion Leaders
3. Congressional Staff
4. Business Leaders
One question they were asked is -
How favorable is your impression of China.
The results are quite varied.
Business leaders had the largest percentage of very favorable impressions - 17%
Opinion leaders were next at 15%.
The General public followed with 9%.
But...but...only 1% of the Congressional Staff had a very favorable impression of China.
---
Half of the General public (50%) and nearly half of the Opinion leaders (48%) and
Business Leaders (46%) had a somewhat favorable impression.
Still only 18% of the Congressional Staff had even somewhat of a favorable opinion
of China.
It is the congressional Staff that can make the biggest difference when push comes to
shove, no?
Or is it the business leaders that drive congress?
Aren't the members of Congress supposed to reflect the views of their constituency?
They don't in this case.
What do you think?
