
Motorola knows it.
Tiffany & Co. knows it.
Proctor & Gamble knows it.
Hugo Boss knows it.
China has well over 100 million Internet users. And if you take out the one-third or more that are chain smoking young men that hang out in internet cafes the other 70 million are among China's trend conscious, young and relatively rich.
So...if you want to reach them, how you going to go about it? Billboards and packages of tissue paper being handed out on the corner. Not any more.
Internet is the advertising medium of choice.
In 2001 there was less than $100 million spent on Internet Advertisements. By 2008 it is expected to be nearly 20 times that - $1.8 billion!
There is no doubt that if you want to reach someone who has money, aim for someone who can afford a PC and high speed Internet connection. And I didn't have to go to marketing school to learn that either.
