Four groups in America were polled about their impressions of China -
1. General Public
2. Opinion Leaders
3. Congressional Staff
4. Business Leaders
One question they were asked is
Do you believe that CURRENTLY the relationship between US and China is improving,
getting worse or is there no change?
More than half of all the opinion leaders think the relationship is still improving.
Nearly half of the general public (45%) and the business leaders (43%) think thinks are getting better.
But just over 1/4th of the Congressional staff think things are improving. What do these guys have their heads in the sand? Why are they so different from what the rest of the people think?
It is the congressional Staff that can make the biggest difference when push comes to shove, no?
Or is it the business leaders that drive congress?
Aren't the members of Congress supposed to reflect the views of their constituency?
They surely don't in this case.
What do you think?
