Four groups in America were polled about their impressions of China -
1. General Public
2. Opinion Leaders
3. Congressional Staff
4. Business Leaders
One question they were asked is
Do you believe that the relationship between US and China is better, worse or the
same when compared to 10 years ago?
More than half of all the groups thought the relationship had improved...52% of the Congressional Staff was the lowest of the bunch followed by 57% of the general
public.
Nearly 2/3s of Opinion Leaders (65%) and almost 70% of Business Leaders (69%) think the relationship is better.
Nearly 1/4th of the Congressional staff think things have gotten worse. This percentage
is nearly twice as big as what the general public (13%) thinks and more than two times
what the Business leaders (11%) and Opinion leaders (9%) think.
It is the congressional Staff that can make the biggest difference when push comes to
shove, no?
Or is it the business leaders that drive congress?
Aren't the members of Congress supposed to reflect the views of their constituency?
They surely don't in this case.
What do you think?
